94+ points Eric Guido (Vinous): "The 2020 Nero d'Avola Siccagno captivates with an earth-inspired bouquet that blends crushed ashen stones with sage and smoke before giving way to crushed wild blueberries. It’s silky and refined, with a sleek wave of ripe red and blue fruits carried across a core of zesty acidity. A saline tinge adds a savory edge toward the close. The 2020 finishes lightly structured, long and with immaculate balance, leaving a coating of primary concentration, hints of citrus and inner florals. While already a total pleasure aromatically and on the palate, I expect the 2020 Siccagno will blossom beautifully over the next five to ten years in a cold cellar. This is stunning. Drink: 2024-2032. (Sep 2023)"

91 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The organic Arianna Occhipinti 2020 Sicilia Nero d'Avola Siccagno offers a pretty medley of cherry, dark fruit and a touch of clove. The wine shows background hints of cola, black olive and baked plum. There is a lot of lifted fruit in this wine that leads to a punchy, lively style overall. It is fluid in personality but also lean in texture. Drink 2023-2027 (Jun 2023)."

91 points James Button (Decanter): "A blend of plots of organically farmed Nero d'Avola from the Bombolieri vineyard in Vittoria, this wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts then undergoes a 30-day maceration, before ageing for 16 months in large Slavonian oak botti then a further six months in bottle. Wild hedgerow berry scents lead into a softly textured, sapid palate which mirrors the nose, showing a good intensity of red and black berries. Honed and well balanced, it's an elegant take on Nero d'Avola. Drinking Window: 2023-2028. (5/12/23)"

Siccagno means "good wine" in the local dialect. It is 100% Nero d'Avola from two parcels on white limestone soils with vines averaging 35 years of age. Organically farmed and harvested by hand; destemmed but the berries are left hole; fermented with native yeasts. The wine is aged for two years in 3000-liter Stockinger oak botti before being bottled unfiltered.
