93 points James Suckling: "A very fresh, juicy and energetic malbec with plenty of ripe plums and red cherries. The texture and lively mouthfeel is impressive. Drink or hold. (3/27/19)"
92 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "[$21 list] Bright red-ruby. Wild, complex and inviting aromas of dark raspberry, black cherry, animal fur, black pepper and rose petal, plus a complicating savory balsamic quality. Plush and seamless but juicy too, with wild raspberry and subtle torrefaction flavors enlivened by brisk, harmonious acidity. Shows a captivating hint of almost candied, chocolatey sweetness that's nicely leavened by firm supporting acidity and a note of black pepper. Finishes with superb rising length--and no tannic dryness. There's plenty more to come with bottle aging but this highly distinctive Malbec from Patagonia is already delicious--and a terrific value. (spent six months in third-use oak) Drink: 2021-2027. (Sep 2019)"
