97 points James Suckling: "Really beautiful aromas of crushed blackberry, brambleberry, hazelnut, walnut and light coffee, following through to a full yet so reserved and polished body with fine, creamy-textured tannins. Fresh and exquisite finish. This is a much more refined and harmonic rendition of their classic wine. Three years in French oak from their own production. Very enjoyable now, but this will improve with age for a long time. (7/5/21)"

96 points Tim Atkin, MW: "(14.5%). Isaac Muga makes this iconic red from a combination of Tempranillo with 15% Garnacha and 5% Mazuelo, all of it sourced from the cooler zones of north-eastern Rioja. Compact, youthful and structured, this is a wine that will reward at least a decade of ageing, with stylish French oak, bramble and blackberry fruit and a tangy, refreshing finish. 2026-35. (2022)"

95 points/'Podium Award,' Peñín Guide to Spanish Wine: "(tempranillo, garnacha, mazuelo, graciano). Colour: deep cherry, garnet rim. Nose: aged wood nuances, ripe fruit, coca bean, cigar, toasty. Palate: flavourful, spicy, toasty, powerful tannins. (2022)"

95 points Wine & Spirits: "[$95 list] The Muga family got its start as winegrowers in Villalba, in the eastern mountains of Rioja Alta, where they still tend small parcels that provide some of their top selections, including Prado Enea. This wine ferments in large oak vats without added yeasts, then ages in mostly French oak barrels. Once bottled, it rests at least three years at the winery before release. Now seven years old, the wine’s luminous color seems to infuse its flavors, emphasizing mountain freshness rather than any overt acidity. Its red-fruit intensities range from boysenberry to cherry and cherry tomato, all of it layered into a texture that’s supple and complex. A classic with a long life ahead. (Dec 2021)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "[$95 list] Full-bodied, refined and powerful, with a luxurious texture, this red boasts glossy raspberry reduction, cherry and mineral notes, woven together with floral and spice accents and hints of tobacco and tea. Drink now through 2033. (9/30/21)"
