95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "All Merlot from a tiny parcel on the upper plateau, the 2019 Château Moulin Du Cadet reveals a healthy purple/plum hue to go with a brilliant nose of ripe black cherries, redcurrants, new leather, chalky minerality, and spring flowers. With beautifully integrated oak, medium to full body, ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish, it will benefit from 2-4 years in the cellar and cruise over the following two decades. It's another brilliant vintage for this Saint-Emilion from the Lefévère family. Drink: 2024-2046. (4/11/22)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Moulin du Cadet is just as compelling as it was from bottle. Ripe dark cherry, plum, spice, leather and chocolate are front and center. This opulent, racy Saint-Émilion is a total pleasure. Proprietor Marie-Benedicte Lefévère has the magic touch here. (Feb 2022)"

94 points James Suckling: "Black-licorice, blackberry and dried-flower aromas follow through to a full body with round, polished tannins and a pretty finish. Layered tannins and a fresh finish. Wonderful energy here. Better after 2026. (1/9/22)"

92 points Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "(Cabernet Franc, Merlot). Classic, signature St Emilion with textured, chalky tannins that have texture, if a little roughly hewn right now. The fruits major on blackberry and blueberry, alongside tobacco and cigar box. Things slow down on the finish, stretching through the palate to balance out the exuberance. Clear oak influence but enjoyable, good quality. Tasted twice. Alcohol 14.5%. Drink: 2026-2040."

92 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "The aromatics here are filled with smoky oak and sweet fruit, the former heavily charred and toasted, the latter sweet and soft focus, but reminiscent of bilberry, currant and dark chocolate, with a little touch of sage adding an attractive savoury note. This feels intense and ambitious. The palate has a polished style, medium-bodied despite all the aromatic bravado, with supple blackcurrant and currant fruits, set upon a frame of tightly knit and slightly chalky tannins. There are even little nuances of white peach and freesia here, which add some fresher tones to it. Despite that chest-beating nose, this does have promise. The declared alcohol is 14.5%. (Dec 2021)"

92 points Peter Moser (Falstaff): "Deep dark ruby, opaque core, violet tints, delicate bright rim. Floral underlaid with dark berry fruit, delicate liquorice and cassis, fine orange zest. Juicy, mineral, red berry texture, vivid tannins, salty-lemon in the aftertaste, a light-footed companion at the table. (6/15/20)"

90-92+ points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Moulin du Cadet stands to attention with classic scents of warm plums, baked blackberries and black raspberries plus nuances of licorice, cedar chest, pencil lead and clove oil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate reveals commendable restraint, with a refreshing line lifting the crunchy black fruit, finishing long with a pleasant bit of chew. (Jun 2020)"

91 points Georgina Hindle (Decanter): "Lovely intensity and density, plush tannins, rich and ripe, rounded fruit, chewy on the palate. Quite a mouthful of fruit and soft tannins that gently take hold and cover the mouth. This is succulent and generous, with savoury truffle. Perhaps not a massively long finish, with some oak spice, clove and minty elements coming in towards the finish, but notable quality and attractive impact of lively fruit. Drinking Window: 2023-2035. (1/5/22)"
