92-93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2017 Chaignots chez Michelot was another wine that was just a touch reduced at the time of my visit. With a bit of prodding the nose offers up scents of sweet black fruit, dark soil tones, espresso, woodsmoke and venison. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely structured, with plenty of sappy fruit at the core, very good soil signature and a long, ripely tannic and well-balanced finish. It is funny, as Chaignots is often far more open at this stage than les Cailles, but in the Michelot cellars this November, the inverse was the case! This will certainly be very good. 2025-2060+. (Nov/Dec 2018)"
