99 points/'Cellar Selection,' Kerin O'Keefe (Wine Enthusiast): "Powerfully structured yet surprisingly graceful, this is one of the stars of the vintage. It seamlessly weaves together tobacco, underbrush, leather and intense balsamic sensations with succulent black cherry, raspberry and licorice flavors. It's all supported by a backbone of lively acidity and noble tannins. This will age and evolve for decades. Drink 2020–2050. Alcohol 14%. (Oct 2014)"

95 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "From the Serralunga d’Alba township, the 2010 Barolo Parafada is a powerhouse wine that meets that difficult balance between elegance and sheer muscle. Of Massolino’s new releases, this wine stands apart for its beautifully saturated appearance and the rich plushness of the mouthfeel. This is a gorgeous wine that is not too far off from the start of its drinking window. With just a few more years in the cellar, Parafada has the natural power and structure to pair with succulent cuts of meat. Drink: 2016-2030. (6/25/14)"

95 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "Black currant and cherry fruit drapes over the fine-grained texture in this refined red. Balanced and long, with tobacco and mineral elements. There are ample tannins despite the finesse. Best from 2017 through 2032. 150 cases imported. (2/28/15)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2010 Barolo Parafada is beautifully layered in the glass. Plum, black cherry, violets and lavender all take shape in the glass. Attractive savory notes appear later, adding lift and freshness. In this vintage the Parafada is chiseled and delineated, with more than enough energy to drink well for a number of years. Stylistically, the Parafada is more lifted and savory than the Margheria, with a wonderful undercurrent of minerality that supports the finish. Drink: 2018-2030. (Jan 2014)"

93 points Decanter: "Brooding, very deep nose of sour red cherry and raspberry fruit complementd by aromatic herbs, sweet spices and roasted coffee. Long, densely textured finish with chalky blueberry and clove notes."
