95 points/'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "[$110 list] From one of the most celebrated vineyard sites in the denomination, this opens with aromas of camphor, iris, pipe tobacco and wild berry. Showing structure and elegance, the focused palate delivers juicy red cherry, crushed raspberry, cake spice and aniseed framed in firm, refined tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced. Drink 2025–2034. Alcohol 14%. (Sep 2022)"

94 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "[$110 list] Massolino has added a few terrific new Barbarescos to its lineup. The 2019 Barbaresco Albesani is one of these. With fruit from a 0.6-hectare growing site at a warm 230 meters in elevation, the wine shows broad knitting and dark fruit nuances of blackcurrant and cherry. There is spice, toast and mineral at the back. This is a 4,000-bottle production. Drink: 2023-2038. (Jun 2022)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Barbaresco Albesani captures all the breadth and resonance that is such a signature of this famous hillside site in Neive. Red/purplish fruit, spice, rose petal, lavender, menthol and licorice build with a bit of time in the glass. Bright acids and lively tannins add energy to this super-classic, inviting Barbaresco from Massolino. The 2019 is a dream, not to mention a superb debut. Drink: 2027-2039. (Feb 2022)"

94 points Falstaff: "Clear, bright ruby garnet. Opens with charming nose of ripe raspberries and strawberries, some cotton candy and truffles in the background. Very juicy on the palate with polished tannins, ripe raspberry fruit, then grippy on the finish with firm drive. (10/7/22)"

94 points James Suckling: "A tight and concentrated Barbaresco with racy strawberries, orange zest and hints of sweet spices. Medium to full body with tightly wound tannins that slowly build on the palate to a crescendo. Long, tight but also seamless tannins. Pretty eclectic in style showing clarity, fine austerity and just a hint of plushness. Drink or hold. (10/5/22)"
