94 points Aldo Fiordelli (Decanter): "The 2019 is the first vintage ever for Massolino with Barbaresco. A precise, even reductive style typical of the estate, it has an amazing definition of violet, rose and rhubarb melded with balsamic whiffs and savoury liquorice in depth. Firm acidity and tannins dominate the palate with elegance and integration; a woven structure which flows with dusty, ripe tannins and lifted freshness. More elegant than powerful, its quintessentially Barbaresco and not without sufficient concentration for ageing. Drinking Window: 2022-2039. (Jan 2022)"

93 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The Massolino 2019 Barbaresco offers fine and delicate fiber with plenty of wild berry, blue flower, licorice and crushed stone. With 10,000 bottles produced, this wine remains a fresh and accessible taste of Nebbiolo from the gentle hills of Barbaresco. Drink: 2023-2035. (Jun 2022)"

93 points James Suckling: "A pretty mineral nose showing blood orange, rust and a racy, dark raspberry and cranberry character. A hint of dry earth and vanilla as well. Very firm and sinewy with a medium-to full-bodied palate, showing impressive purity and fine grip. Very well-made. Drink or hold. (10/5/22)"

92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Barbaresco is the first Barbaresco in Massolino's long history. Effusive aromatics and bright, red-toned fruit lend considerable immediacy and charm, but as is so often the case, that first impression of elegance is backed up by pretty serious tannins. This taut, nervy Barbaresco needs time to soften, but it is so impressive. The 2019 saw about three weeks on the skins, with indigenous fermentations, and was aged in cask. It's a gorgeous wine by any measure. Vineyard sites are Starderi, Albesani and Serraboella. Drink: 2027-2039. (Feb 2022)"

92 points Kerin O'Keefe (Wine Enthusiast): "Forest berry, blue flower and botanical herb aromas lift out of the glass. Linear and vibrant, the palate has racy tension that lifts juicy strawberry, red cherry, blood orange and star anise alongside taut, tightly wound tannins. Give it a few more years to fully develop. Drink: 2024–2029. (Sep 2022)"

92 points Falstaff Guide: "Bright garnet red. Small red fruits and sour cherry on the nose, floral with subtle aromas of undergrowth on the aftertaste. Harmonious on the palate, with fine-grained tannins, elegant, with good flow, needs some air and should be decanted. (Jul 2022)"

90 points Wine Spectator: "[$54 list] Delivers juicy strawberry, cherry, herbal and mineral flavors that buffer the spine of tannins. Well-balanced, this stays defined and linear on the finish. Best from 2025 through 2038. 850 cases made, 300 cases imported. (10/31/22)"
