90-92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "From around 60-year-old vines on 0.5 hectares near the Morey border, the 2016 Chambolle-Musigny Les Bussières was reduced to three and a half barrels instead of the usual eight due to frost. The aromatics here were tight-lipped and offering just faint flora scents that demanded a lot of coaxing. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very fresh in the mouth although at the moment it become quite compact toward the sorbet-like finish. Good potential but it will require 3 or 4 years in bottle. (Dec 2017)"

90+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Monsieur Lignier’s parcel in la Bussière was badly frosted and production was down here by sixty percent in 2016. However, the wine has retained a suave structural chassis, rather than showing some of the more overtly chewy tannins of other examples in the village that were made from a badly frosted parcel. The bouquet is deep and primary, offering up scents of black cherries, dark soil tones, plums, woodsmoke, gamebird and a topnote of violets. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and a bit more reserved than the Vieilles Vignes bottling, but with a lovely core of pure fruit, fine-grained tannins and a long, focused and promising finish. 2022-2060. (Nov/Dec 2017)"

90 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny Les Bussières 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet with rose petal infused redcurrant and raspberry fruit. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, quite firm in the mouth like a Morey-Saint-Denis, with a bright and well-defined, sorbet-fresh finish. Pert! Give this three to five years in bottle. Tasted at the Domaine. Drink: 2021-2035. (Oct 2019)"
