93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Bottled end April. Light lemon and lime. A little touch of banana to the nose which is notably punchier than the Puligny. Then it calms down and becomes flintier. A little youthful bitterness here as the white fruit otherwise takes over. Much more Blagny than Meursault. Fine crunchy finish. (May 2022)"

92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Sous le Dos d'Ane unwinds in the glass with aromas of white currants, flowers, fresh mint and bread dough, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless palate with a textural attack that segues into a taut, racy mid-palate and a precise, chalky finish. From a parcel that borders Pierre Morey's Meursault Perrières, this cuvée really seems to have found its identity in the last few years. Drink: 2025-2045. (1/31/23)"

92 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "This white grows on you, with a texture bordering on creamy offset by lively acidity, revealing peach, apple, pastry and mineral flavors. Shows fine balance, precision and length overall. Drink now through 2028. 590 cases made, 115 cases imported. (8/31/23)"

89-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.3 ha holding). This is presently sufficiently reduced to make assessing the nose impossible. More interesting are the succulent and impressively dense middle weight flavors that possess a lovely sense of underlying tension that carries over to the lingering if mildly tangy finish that isn't quite as harmonious. This may well come together once it's in bottle, but it is somewhat awkward today. Drink: 2027+. (Jun 2022)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(From vines planted in 2004 and 1995 – the barrels are large-format – mainly 400-litres). More airy, faintly reductive but alive. Vibrant, dynamic citrus. Super saline finishing – a great finish again. (Feb 2022)"
