92 points Decanter: "Le Masse di Lamole’s vineyards are considered paesaggio rurale storico, historic rural landscape, with their dry-stone walled terraces and bush- trained vines. In the cellar, large old chestnut barrels are used for the maturation of the Sangiovese. This Gran Selezione is wonderful, warm and resounding – you sense the high altitude, close to 650m above sea level. Wonderful precision is typical of the wines of this zone, perhaps because of the elevated acidity, and an elevated perfume that is often produced from fruit grown on sandy soils. The wine’s warmth feels more connected to the makers than the site though; a dignified, hard-working couple, sensible and sensitive, passionate about the land and the Sangiovese they grow.
