95+ points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "A blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah aged in 58% new oak for 19 months, the 2018 Beguiling has a medium ruby-purple color and a nose of berry jam, licorice, powdered sugar and earthy accents. It offers powerful, spicy flavors in a silky, super juicy frame and finishes long and layered. An elegant expression that isn't ashamed of its full California fruit. 920 cases were made. Drink: 2020-2030. (Oct 2020)"

94 points Josh Raynolds (Vinous): "Glass-staining ruby. Expansive, spice-accented red berry and cherry preserve, spice-cake and floral aromas are complicated by suggestions of smoky minerals and succulent herbs. Lively, sharply focused raspberry and bitter cherry flavors become deeper and sweeter through the midpalate while picking up a mocha nuance. Shows impressive energy and spicy thrust on the velvety finish, which is framed by supple, even tannins. 58% new French oak. Drink: 2023-2031. (Dec 2020)"

Producer notes: "85% Grenache, 15% Syrah. The lifted aromatics of this wine resemble the beautiful sound of a violin. Its nose is delicately wound around a core of concentrated red fruit characteristics such as cranberry, red currants and raspberry. White flower blossom, wet stone, graphite and juicy pomegranate play in unison with subtle notes of caramel popcorn, black tea and rich, fresh earth. The palate displays a harmonic balancing act with beautiful grip, yet plenty of brightness. This wine possesses a true focus that is playful and lively, leading into a cascading, soft, and generous finish."
