96 points Tim Atkin, MW: "(14%). El Velado faces west and is an east and north-east facing parcel of 0.93 hectares located at 668 metres. Marrying Tempranillo with 40% Garnacha and some white grapes, it's a very perfumed red with notes of thyme, pine and rosemary, good freshness and balance, subtle oak and a finish that is complex, energetic and long. 2021-30. (2021)"

95 points and 'Podium Award,' Peñín Guide to Spanish Wine: "Colour: Cherry. Nose: sweet spices, scrubland, red berry notes, fruit liqueur notes, chalk. Palate: spicy, good acidity, flavourful. (2021)"

93 points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): "The higher-altitude vineyards, like some of the ones used for the 2017 El Velado, better resisted the spring frost of the year, and despite being riper, the wine has managed to keep its poise and balance. This comes from a plot at 600 meters in planted 80+ years ago. Like the other wines, it fermented in open 3,000-liter oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in barriques and foudres for some 15 months. They have kept the Burgundian bottle here because there is more Garnacha. This is a little more straightforward, with less complexity compared with the other single-vineyard bottlings, a lactic touch and chalky tannins. 1,524 bottles were filled in May 2019. Drink: 2020-2024. (Oct 2020)"
