Not yet reviewed; 2020 vintage rated 93 points by Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Macherelles 1er Cru comes from red clay soils planted in 1988. This is cut from a different cloth to Lamy's Saint-Aubins: chamomile, white tea and light hazelnuts, almost Meursault-like in style. The palate is tensile on the entry, with fine bitter lemon notes intermixed with peach skin and stem ginger that give the final third an additional dimension. Quite persistent, this is a very serious Chassagne that should age with style. Drink: 2025-2045."
