92 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The elegance and easy grace make this cuvée a reference for the village. The grapes are destemmed and carefully fermented, prior to ageing for two winters in older casks, to produce a wine with a lovely plummy fruit, accents of violets and liquorice, plus a silky, very fine texture that impresses with its ethereal nature. This village Volnay at Lafarge is a blend of six different lieux-dits at either end of the appellation, constituting a total surface of 2.61ha. Drinking Window: 2024-2039. (10/24/20)"

90-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Glowing pink purple, a little stricter than the Bourgogne, but equal in purity. Density of fruit and perfect structure, a few fine-grained tannins, a little pepper, low acidity, but still a feeling of perfect equilibrium. (Oct 2020)"

89-91 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a mix of vines that average about 40 years of age in Brouillard, Buttes, Famines, Pasquiers and Cros Martin). Elegant, cool and ultra-pure aromas include those of violet, dark pinot fruit and plum. The lilting and wonderfully refined flavors are classic Volnay in that they're lacy and graceful while exuding a lovely minerality on the lingering finale. This is a textbook Volnay villages. Drink: 2026+. (Apr 2021)"

89-91 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Volnay Village, matured in used oak barrels, has such a pretty nose with red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit. Quite floral in style. The palate is well balanced with a rather sappy opening. Nice grip here with touches of pepper towards the persistent finish. Good structure, quasi-Pommard maybe. Drink: 2023-2035. (Dec 2020)"
