93-95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "I loved the 2018 from this estate, and the 2019 Château La Marzelle looks to be in the same class, offering a ripe, full-bodied, yet balanced style as well as classy notes of darker, almost blue fruits, flowers, and spice. The class of tannins here is brilliant and this is a stunning 2019 in the making. Tasted twice. (6/11/20)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 La Marzelle is lush, forward and absolutely beautiful. Succulent red cherry, plum, spice, leather, tobacco, blood orange and espresso infuse the 2019 with notable complexity to play off its exuberant personality. This exotic, full-throttle Saint-Émilion is a real head-turner. Tasted three times. Drink: 2027-2039. (Feb 2022)"

93 points Georgina Hindle (Decanter): "Herbal bramble aspects on the nose - some black truffle and dark chocolate. I like the drive of this, it's lively with plenty of acidity and good bounce to the red and black fruits. Dense and just-chewy tannins on the palate, this is more approachable than some, offering plenty of fruit, juice and pleasure right now. Well balanced. Mineral tones with slate and graphite providing the fresh-menthol aspect to the wine. Nice frame and persistence - confident with swagger. Drinking Window: 2022-2035. (1/5/22)"

93 points Peter Moser (Falstaff) (2/16/22).

93 points James Suckling: "Notes of dark cherries, plums, mushrooms, black tea and sweet spices on the nose. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Fruity and juicy with a creamy texture and a supple finish. Polished. Delicious already, but better after 2023. (2/20/22)"

91-93+ points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 la Marzelle unfurls slowly in the glass, building up to a great intensity of crushed blackberries, black cherries and black raspberry scents over nuances of rose petals, tar and clove oil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has impressive vivacity and freshness with a solid structure of grainy tannins and loads of spicy layers coming through on the finish. (Jun 2020)"

92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 La Marzelle has an intense nose of black cherries and a touch of sous-bois and game, nicely composed and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded, pliant tannins and a sweet core of plummy fruit mixed with touches of peppermint and allspice. Good length on the finish. Very fine. Drink: 2024-2044. (Feb 2022)"

91 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "From a small estate well out on the sandy soils of St Emilion, close to Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac, this opens with a typically dark and brooding nose filled with the scents of macerated fruits, blackberry dusted with a little green peppercorn, and driven through by a rather sandy minerality. Given time, though, I also see the sweetness of bright cranberry and blueberry here. There follows a richly polished palate, seamless, with very dark blackcurrant, bramble jelly and sweet cranberry fruits too, with a polished upper layer, and a rich core of extracted, grippy tannins which dominate the smoky finish. It feels very typical of the château and I suspect that will become more apparent as it ages. Tasted twice, once in Bordeaux and once in Scotland. The declared alcohol is 14%. (Dec 2021)"
