In celebration of Woodland Hills Wine Company's 45th anniversary, we are excited to present you with a one-of-a kind bourbon: The Smith Family Cask. Named in honor of our founders, Paul and Carol Smith, we sourced a single barrel of Knob Creek bourbon and bottled it at a concentrated 120 proof. This special liquid was put into cask on February 26, 2014 in Warehouse X, Floor 3, Rack 22, Tier 1, where it spent over 9 years in cask before finally being bottled on June 2, 2023.
Knob Creek has remained one of the most popular high-end whiskies out of Kentucky over the last 20 years, and rightfully so. The normal bottlings of Knob Creek are blends of many different barrels to create a consistent whisky. However, in the huge warehouses of Knob Creek lie some outstanding barrels of bourbon that are so good on their own that it would be a shame to blend them with anything else. It is these barrels that go into their single barrel program, and from which we chose, tasting and selecting the best of the bunch for our Smith Family Cask.
In a world littered with all sorts of bourbon going for $100 and up, it’s nice to find a cask-strength, 9-year-old bottling for an outstanding price of under $60! Only 186 bottles produced.
