99 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "Hold on tight before you drink this dry riesling! Mind-blowing concentration here, yet it weighs in at just 12.5 per cent alcohol. This gives it an extraordinary impression of weightlessness at the finish. Enormous aging potential. Try in 2019. (9/19/18)"

97 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Morstein is usually the most powerful GG in this lineup here at Weingut Keller, but the inherent elegance and refinement of the best 2017ers is very much apparent in this wine right out of the blocks this year. The nose delivers a beautiful constellation of tart orange, sweet grapefruit, lemongrass, chalky minerality, a touch of smokiness and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and sports great mid-palate depth, with a very precise and seamless sense of balance, racy acids, laser-like focus and stellar length and grip on the nascently complex and utterly refined finish. Fine, fine juice. 2030-2085. (May/Jun 2018)"

97 points Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 38 18. The 2017er Westhofener Morstein Riesling Trocken GG develops a stunning and hugely complex nose of wet stone, pear, passion fruit, whipped cream, and herbs. It proves gorgeously balanced on the zesty, precise yet also delicately smooth palate and leaves a multi-layered feel of fruits and herbs in the long finish. This shows quite some extract, concentration and depth but remains ethereally light-footed. The combination of creamy opulence, zesty structure and aromatic precision is simply staggering. 2027-2043. (Jun 2019)"

95 points David Schildknecht (Vinous): "Chalk dust, Latakia tobacco, lime peel, bruised apple skin, pennyroyal and boxwood combine for a penetrating nose whose sheer intensity – not to mention some of its specifics – I can’t recall from any previous Keller Morstein. The feel is firm, and the palate veritably seethes with mineral matter while exhibiting brightly and tartly juicy fruit intensity that suggests an admixture of white currant and crabapple core. The finish grips implacably, tugging at cheeks and salivary glands alike, while delivering mouth-shaking energy and a striking impression of chalk and stone suffusion. And for all that this wine approaches hyper-concentration, it nonetheless exhibits an exhilarating sense of animation and lift while compelling the next sip. 'That’s exactly how it should be,' remarked Keller. Drink: 2019-2035. (Jul 2019)"

18.5/20 points Julia Harding, MW (JancisRobinson.com): "To be bottled August 2018. 70-year-old vines, 2 t/ha. Lots of rocky spice on the nose, immediately more open than you might expect for Morstein. Peachy too. Apricot but without the sweetness (and there’s no botrytis on any of the GG wines). Aromatic without being perfumed. Rich and deep and mouth-filling. There’s power but no lack of finesse. Muscular, deep, deep and long. It almost goes without saying about a Keller wine that it is perfectly fresh but it also has all this spice and power. Really rocky and mineral, but dark rock not chalky. Deep, deep wine. Drinking Window: 2023-2035. (2/17/18)"
