The bouquet shows all of the purity and precision that are the calling cards of the 2020 vintage, offering up a beautiful constellation of tart orange, sweet grapefruit, lemon peel, wild yeasts, a kaleidoscopic base of salty limestone minerality and a topnote of citrus blossoms. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, seamless and effortless in its perfect balance, with a stellar core of fruit, great mineral drive and cut, beautiful focus and a very, very long, pristine and nascently complex finish. 2035-2100. Although this year, it is Abts E who is leading the pack. Abts E is a parcel in Brunnenhäuschen on limestone soil, well furnished with veins of water, hence performing well in drier years. The wine shows candied lemon peel and lime blossom as well as subtle hints of spice. Its high concentration and the zesty acidity have not yet integrated properly, but its grandeur is already evident. Drinking Window: 2021-2045. (8/29/21)"
