100 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "Why fret, why worry if you can drink this unbelievable wine? Mind-blowing nose of apricot, fresh pineapple and a thousand spices. Ravishing interplay of fruit, acidity, minerals and so much else that isn't easy to describe in a few measly words. The ultra long finish is so uplifting and utterly joyful. Drink or hold. (8/16/20)"

99 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "Grown only 200 meters away from the old-vines Morstein, the 2019 Abts E(rde) Riesling GG combines perfect fruit ripeness with delicate concentration as well as notes of chalk, flint and iron. There is a similarity to both Kirchspiel (minty, herbal and chalky notes) and Morstein (transcendency), but this has unique ripeness and concentration of fruit, with shredded lemon rind and unique finesse. Round and juicy on the palate, this is a supple and intense yet delicate and silky Riesling with a firm structure built by very fine tannins and remarkably fine acidity. There is this slushy chalkiness combined with lemon oil typical for this terroir. The finish is highly intense and long. (Apr 2021)"

99 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Abtserde Grosses Gewächs bottling from Weingut Keller has been one of the greatest three or four white wines in the world for well more than a decade now, is it not perhaps time for the German wine authorities to relent and let the historical name of this vineyard finally appear on labels? I know that adaptability and change are not easy things in officialdom, but this is the historical name of this section of the Brunnenhäuschen that goes back centuries, and it really deserves to be on the label, as it is a singular terroir from the rest of the vineyard. In any case, the 2019 Abtserde is utterly brilliant, offering up a young and stunning bouquet of tart orange, pink grapefruit, lemon, a very complex base of salty, chalky minerality, spring flowers, just a whisper of wild yeasts, citrus zest and lemongrass. On the palate the wine is precise, deep and full-bodied, with flawless balance and grip, snappy, buried acids, stunning mineral drive and grip and a very, very long, complex and electric finish. Sheer brilliance! 2034-2100. (Jan/Feb 2021)"

96 points Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 23 20. The 2019er Abts E®, as it is referred to on the consumer label, is a bone-dry wine made from fruit picked in Abtserde (hence the “Abts E®” play on word), a prime sector of the Westhofener Brunnenhäuschen vineyard. It offers a most captivating and finely aromatic nose of tangerine, grapefruit, pear, fresh herbs, mint, lime, white flowers, and citrusy zest. The wine is driven by zesty flavors of citrusy fruits on the airy yet energetic and deep palate and leaves a tight feel marked by salty elements and spices in the finish. The after-taste is pure, vibrating, and bone-dry. While the nose is quite flamboyant, this gorgeous dry Riesling will require quite some patience in order for it to integrate all its elements on the palate and reveal its underlying greatness. 2029-2049+. (Oct 2020)"
