94 points Anne Krebiehl, MW (Falstaff): "Fresh, bright, ripe but tart notes of red cherry come with a wonderfully savoury notion of rose hedge. More air brings forth riper red cherry. The palate stays on that brisk, aromatic cherry theme and frames it with both bright freshness and the crunichness of Atlas silk tannins. Lovely, smooth and elegant with a supremely fresh finish. Alcohol 13.5%. (3/24/21)"

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Aromas of raspberries, rose petals, sweet soil tones and warm spices introduce the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes (Domaine Gagey), a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and elegantly muscular wine with a concentrated core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, sapid finish. This cuvée is another fixture among the portfolio's highlights. (Jan 2021)"

91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Fine bright crimson, though not yet delivering much on the nose, before reaching a sweeter brighter fruit, with extra energy on the second half of the palate, dynamic and very persistent. More Chambolle than Morey for a change. (Oct 2020)"

93 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "Les Baudes lies just beneath Bonnes Mares, on the northern edge of the village. It is a site which ripens early, delivering super-ripe fruit and making a wine that has a pronounced, perfumed Chambolle character, with ripe, high-toned red fruit on the nose and a silky, ethereal texture on the palate, yet there is no lack of structure here. Drinking Window: 2021-2025. (Oct 2020)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes 1er Cru shakes off a little reduction to reveal more black fruit compared to the Feusselottes, broodier and distinctly marine-influenced. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of licorice on the entry and a long, sweet finish. There is some oak here to be subsumed, but I like the weight and density in the mouth. Give it three or four years in bottle to absorb the wood. (Dec 2020)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "Domaine Gagey. Here’s a nose that just keeps getting better and better – such a seductive floral accent to the fruit – yes! The shape is full, softer at the edges versus the Suchots, no less depth or dimension of flavour. That’s a great finish too. Bravo Chambolle… (Nov 2020)"
