96 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The intensely citrus-colored 1985 Vouvray Le Mont Demi-Sec opens with a concentrated, minerally flavored lemon confit, pineapple and zesty grapefruit aroma with beautiful flinty flavors. With great freshness, finesse and tension on the palate, this seemingly light demi-sec tastes almost dry thanks to its mineral and tannic backbone. The finish is as pure and salty as it is fruity, and seems predestined for poultry dishes in cream sauce with morels or porcini. Drinking window? Don't ask me questions! This wine is already 31 years old, but behaving almost as a teen on the palate in terms of vitality. Great finesse and elegance here, an almost weightless body with some minty flavors in the finish. Greatly structured. A gorgeous Chenin made for another 20 or 30 or even more years. Drink: 2016-2050. (Oct 2016)"
