95 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Vouvray Clos du Bourg Moelleux is ripe and already quite open on the remarkably fine and precise nose where delicate chalky notes intermix with yeasty aromas of ripe apples and even very fine flinty hints. On the palate, this is a sweet, lush, salty-piquant and refined but tightly woven Chenin with structure, remarkable finesse, tickling salinity and serious but fine tannins, as if it was a Pinot Noir. Filigreed and feminine on the tongue, the 2018 develops a long, tensioned, tightly woven and stimulatingly salty finish. Great class and aging potential. Tasted in May 2019. Drink: 2020-2065. (May 2019)"

95 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2018 Clos du Bourg Moelleux is the deepest and most powerful of the three vineyards this year at this sweetness level, but it shares the same sense of refinement found in the Le Haut-Lieu and Le Mont versions. The bouquet is pure and nearly bottomless, delivering a blend of pineapple, apple, quince, honeycomb, delicate, and yet musky floral tones, a great base of soil, orange peel, a touch of bergamot and shadings of what will become barley sugar a couple of decades down the road. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and snappier than the other two Moelleux bottlings, with a great core of fruit, lovely mineral drive on the backend, bright acids and superb length and grip on the nascently complex and very, very promising finish. This will be a legend in due course! 2030-2100. (Sep/Oct 2019)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "Very elegant, with juicy acidity underscoring notes of vanilla bean, piecrust, quince paste and white flowers. The velvety texture adds to the charm, while a minerally backbone imparts brightness and adds to the complexity. Offers a long, inviting finish. Drink now through 2034. 650 cases made. (11/15/19)"
