93 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Three parcels, all of them, on the Brochon side of the appellation, supply the fruit for this impressive village Gevrey-Chambertin, made from vines between 50 and 85 years' old. The oak is comparatively assertive here, but the wine has more than enough structure, texture and fruit weight to cope. Fennel, black cherry and baking spice flavours combine winningly on the palate underpinned by refreshing acidity. Drinking Window: 2022-2028. (Oct 2019)"

90+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2018 Gevrey old vines cuvée is also very strong chez Harmand, with a similarly deep, broad-shouldered and very well-balanced personality to the Clos Prieur. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a classic, black fruity blend of sweet dark berries, roasted meats, dark soil tones, bitter chocolate, bonfires and a bit of spicy oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, powerful and nicely structured, with a fine core of fruit, good soil signature, firm, buried tannins and superb length and grip on the focused and nascently complex finish. Good juice. 2028-2055. (Nov/Dec 2019)"
