92 points Mosel Fine Wines: "The 2018er Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese was harvested at 95° Oechsle and was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar (79 g/l). It proves slightly reductive at first but quickly reveals its quite aromatic and rich nose of apricot, orange, candied grapefruit, tangerine, and apple, with a dash of spices. The wine is all about apricot, candy floss, and juicy exotic fruits on the superbly smooth and creamy palate. These creamy and fruity flavors lead to a delicate and long finish. The wine becomes a touch more intense ad assertive in the after-taste (the wine does have 9% of alcohol). 2024-2038. (Oct 2019)"

91 points David Schildknecht (Vinous): "The nose is intensely redolent of fresh but very ripe white peach, cassis and candied grapefruit laced with eucalyptus and mint. The palate impression is soft but alluringly creamy as well as buoyant. Prominent sweetness pulls the herbal elements in the direction of liqueur-like essences, while the candied citrus aspect comes to the fore. But there is no faulting this wine’s sheer persistence, and I suspect that it will have more to say for itself in a few years. Drink: 2020-2034. (Nov 2020)"

17/20 points Jancis Robinson: "Super-charming and fine. Well sculpted and clearly going to be a very fine, expressive bottle with that Mittel Mosel harmony. Enough acidity though no excess in this vintage! Drink between 2025-2038. (4/29/19)"
