97-99 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "From ancient vines planted in 1912 which nonetheless apparently set a generous yield of 40 hl/ha. Small berries, but plenty of them. 100% whole bunch ,100% new wood. Black centre with purple rim. Very dense with a little whole bunch pepper. Dark fruit, but absolutely gorgeous. Sumptuous but balanced, seemingly endless on the palate. The fruit is mostly dark but it is beautifully balanced. 12.8% finished and with least acidity. Perfectly integrated tannins, 'like a mattress' says Nicolas. This is great wine. (Dec 2021)"
94-96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "Raised entirely in new oak with all its stems, the 2020 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has a tough job following the crystalline Les Amoureuses. Almost opaque at first, this whole bunch imparts a strong pepperiness, with a light charcoal scent in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, taut and fresh with a slightly chalky textured, sorbet-fresh finish. Afford this 5-8 years in bottle. Drink: 2027-2055. (Dec 2021)"
