97 points Anne Krebiehl (Falstaff): "Just a hint of flinty, smoky reduction plays alongside the ripe red cherry on the nose. The palate is poised, balanced and its chief characteristic is fine freshness combined with elegant, fine tannins. Notions of liquorice and pepper add extra layers and nuance to the fruit. The body is dense, posed, elegant and the finish is long and exquisite. (1/25/22)"

95-97 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru has a classy bouquet with dark cherries, raspberry and violets scents, quintessential Les Beaux Monts. Very good vigour. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine acidity, taut and fresh with a very precise finish. Good backbone here, certainly with more depth than the Aux Brûlées on the finish. Superb. Drink: 2026-2055. (Dec 2021)"

96 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Violet and white pepper nose in Les Beaux Monts, spicy and luminous wine, quite ripe and dense in the middle palate, which offers patinated flavors and finishes all in fruit purity. (2023)"

95 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$445 list] A beauty, this red is both elegant and intense, with a beam of pure cherry and wild strawberry focused like a laser, staying in lockstep with the taut, refined structure. Stony mineral, floral and spice elements add depth as this winds down leisurely on the finish. Best from 2025 through 2043. 30 cases imported. (2023)"

92-94 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Another imperial black purple. The nose is very dense but not too ripe. A cracking intensity to this, with some lifted floral notes, very ripe lush cherry and raspberry but I think will come down on the right side. Fresh finish though with fine-grained tannins.(Nov 2021)"

93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Hints of mineral style reduction are present on the elegant, pure and airy aromas of black pinot fruit, plum, anise and jasmine tea. The racy, intense and beautifully precise medium weight flavors brim with minerality on the gorgeously textured, stylish and classy finish that is presently youthfully austere. This is potentially terrific and should age gracefully over a 12 to 15 period. Drink: 2032+. (Jan 2022)"
