94-97 points Fine Wine Review: "Mathilde points out that the part of Grivot’s Clos-Vougeot located in the bottom third of the vineyard is advantaged by hot years because of the better water retention. The wine is round, complete, and concentrated with a smooth texture and fresh, spicy dark fruits. It is a candidate for best Clos-Vougeot I tasted from 2017. (4/9/19)"

96 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Running from their gate by the Route Nationale to the same height as the Château de la Tour, the Grivots' vines are all in the lower half of the Clos. In hot years like 2017, humid soils can be an advantage, which appears to be the case for this stylish, poised, well-balanced grand cru bottling. The 30% oak is particularly subtle, framing the fresh, mineral-edged finish. Drinking Window: 2025-2030. (Oct 2018)"

92-95 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Middle weight, fine concentration of dark red fruit, there is ripeness on the one hand, a little bit of the vintage’s firm finish on the other, tense dark fruit, high acidity. No more than middleweight, this year’s Clos Vougeot is currently hiding its sense of harmony. But the raw materials are all there. Tasted: November 2018."

93-94 points Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Clos de Vougeot 2017 is showing excellently – as many other wines from this vineyard in the 2017s vintage. The Grivot Clos de Vougeot is from the bottom part of the vineyard – but is nevertheless showing tremendous depth and vivacious fruit. The nose is displaying a lovely collection of red and dark berries – delightful spicy notes .. a really charming effort. Drink from 2032. (3/6/19)"

92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has quite a strict, minerally bouquet of blackberry, raspberry and light pressed iris aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with gently gripping tannin, touches of orange peel and marmalade infusing the red berry fruit. The peppery finish perhaps does not quite possess the persistency of the Vosne Premier Crus at the moment. Drink: 2022-2045. (Jan 2019)"

93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(50+ year old vines located in the lower section of the Clos). Here the less expressive nose flirts with reduction though a wisp of red berry fruit is discernible so I would suggest decanting this if you're game to try a bottle young. Otherwise the succulent and nicely rich flavors are blessed with abundant amounts of dry extract that coats the palate and buffers the moderately firm tannic spine on the youthfully austere and sneaky long finish. Drink: 2027+. (Jan 2020)"
