97 points James Suckling: "This is a really racy and linear red with blackberries, blackcurrants and hints of chocolate and cedar. It’s full-bodied with long, firm tannins and an intense finish. Shows coolness and strength but is not overpowering. Nice touch of sage and mint at the end. First year with only cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. No petit verdot now. From organically grown grapes. From just two hectares. Picked together and co-fermented. Drink after 2023. (2/3/22)"

96 points Wine & Spirits: "[$80 list] Compared to the dense and rich 2016 L’Alberello, this wine shows the brightness and verve of the 2018 growing season. It opens with fragrant scents of lavender, violet and thyme; then the saturating flavors of blackberry and plum interlayer with notes of licorice and fresh herbs. The flavors are concentrated yet complex and precise, seeming to gain energy the longer the wine sits in the glass. Its velvety tannins and bold, balanced flavors are appealing now, and will be even more so in five years. (Oct 2021)"

95 points Falstaff: "Glistening, rich ruby hues with a light garnet shimmer. Very distinct and precise aroma of ripe wild raspberries followed by red and blackcurrant nuances, finely spicy. On the palate grippy, dense tannins, displaying a fine interplay of the components and very juicy. A saline and persistent long lasting finish. (8/27/21)"

93 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$80 list] The iron, sanguine and cedar notes that mingle with flavors of black currant and black cherry give this red an Old World character. Fluid, complex and harmonious, this is deceptively open now. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2023 through 2038. 430 cases imported. (10/31/21)"
