90-94 points Fine Wine Review: "The wine from two vineyards, Chaignots (50% of a normal crop) and Chênes Carteaux (10% of a normal crop) was declassified into the village Nuits in order to keep the village wine quantity sufficient (it is necessary to insure a sufficient quantity of village wine for commercial reasons, such as supply to restaurants).... As mentioned above, this wine includes wine from premiers crus Chaignots and Chênes Carteaux, and it performs like a premier cru. It has a perfumed, dark fruit nose. The mouth is silky with expressive dark fruits and good length. It is a very approachable wine. (Dec 2017)"

93 points (16.5/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "The Nuits-villages integrated in 2016 Chêne Carteaux and Les Chaignots, whose yields were too sparse due to frost. It is a fragrant and floral wine, already charming, but endowed with depth and a spicy background. (2019)"

93 points Tim Atkin, MW (Jan 2018).

91 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2016 Nuits AC had just been racked the day before my visit and had its SO2 adjusted a touch as well, and yet the wine was in good form and easy to taste! The bouquet is deep and quite sappy this year (perhaps from the addition of some Chaignots?), jumping from the glass in a lovely mix of black cherries, sweet dark berries, woodsmoke, venison, dark soil tones and raw cocoa. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with fine focus and grip, ripe, seamless tannins and a long, vibrant and tangy finish. Fine, fine AC. 2024-2060. (Nov/Dec 2017)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "Was racked the day before tasting – the sulfur corrected too. A nose with more volume, and just a hint of oak. More depth of flavour, more weight of flavour, but also beautifully silky. The tannin is not really a discussion point, maybe just its relative lack. Excellent. (Dec 2017)"
