93-95 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "A rich, explosive wine, the 2012 Chambertin is endowed with fabulous depth and exceptional overall balance. Dark blue and purplish fruit give way to violets, cinnamon, licorice and lavender. Resonant on the palate yet also quite structured, the 2012 is going to need time to hit the early part of its prime drinking window, but it is striking today just the same. The Chambertin is often terrific here, as it is once again in 2012. Drink: 2022-2042. (Jan 2014)"

92-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Reduction presently dominates the nose though the underlying fruit seems ripe. There is a conspicuous sense of energy and underlying tension to the reserved and intense big-bodied flavors that seem to be built on a base of firm minerality before culminating in a mouth coating and gorgeously long finish that contrasts a touch of natural sweetness against the classic austerity of a young Chambertin. Once again, this is terrific but it's not going to drink well young. Drink: 2027+. (Apr 2014)"
