Established in the 1970s in Mercurey, the Génot-Boulanger winery has expanded north, now covering multiple appellations among 22 hectares of estate vineyards. Winemaker Guillaume Lavollee has helped to oversee organic certification which was completed in 2018. Pommard is one of Burgundy’s most satisfying wines due to its tendency to show a full core of fruit and velvety tannins which is certainly the case here. “Les Cras” means stony hillside, after the plot where the vines grow. Deep in color with plum and berry notes, this will expand in complexity in the glass and age beautifully in the cellar should you choose to wait.
