96 points James Suckling: "The aromas and flavors of plums, smoked meat, raw meat, cloves, nutmeg and berries are sumptuous. Full body, round and polished tannins and a flavorful finish. Yet reserved and focused at the finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap. (12/2/19)"

92 points Wine Spectator: "Rich and juicy in flavor, with maraschino cherry, red licorice and fresh raspberry puree notes up front, plus matcha, dried lavender, star anise and fresh tobacco hints that linger. Despite the generosity of flavor, there’s a light airiness in texture, with supple silkiness coming from polished tannins. Drink now through 2030. (11/15/20)"

92 points James Halliday: "A meld of fruit from a whopping 15 separate Barossan and Eden Valley vineyards, cold soaked and fermented closed, to capture fruit essences. 8-12 days on skins, the fermentation finished in oak before a further 12 months in neutral French oak. This is an approach that serves the buxom blue fruit notes, grapey intensity and soaring florals very well. A polished chassis. No components in the way of the other. Slurpy, gently peppery and delicious. (Aug 2020)"

Producer notes: "Not a sledgehammer style, this Barossa Shiraz is made for drinking! Garnet red with purple hues. A complex nose of dark cherry and blackberry aromas with a hint of forest floor and spice. Vibrant dark cherry and blackberry with a hint of ‘wombat rolled in all spice’ balanced with an even, textural palate with soft, supple tannins."
