94 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Montmains is a judicious blend of three parcels, one from Butteaux for density, the second from Forest for finesse and the last from Montmains, whose deep soils provide richness. On arrival, the wine is rich on the attack, with a dense, mineral mid-palate. An unqualified success. (2024)"

90-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(a domaine wine composed of <40% Butteaux plus 30% each of Forêts and Montmains proper). An overtly floral-inflected nose displays notes of pear, apple, citrus confit and mineral reduction. There is impressive density to the rich and surprisingly powerful middleweight plus flavors that are supported by bracing lemon-tinged acidity on the more complex, long and highly refreshing finish. Good stuff and worth your interest. Drink: 2028+. (Oct 2022)"

92 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com) (2023).

90-92 points Jasper Morris MW (Inside Burgundy): "Made up of all three parts of Montmains, mostly Forêts and Butteaux which is picked later. Currently cloudy but the bouquet can speak for the wine. Attractive delicate white fruits, not very reductive this year, while the fruit really builds on the second half of the palate and the finish does deliver some kimmeridgian minerals. Racy at the end but also a touch softer than some years. Drink from 2025-2029. (Jun 2022)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru comes from 3.80-hectares within the three climats, one-third each, and is generally a late-ripening cuvée. The aromatics were very primal on the nose with touches of grapefruit and grass clippings. The palate is well-balanced with a citrus thread of acidity, fairly steely with a twist of sour lemon towards the finish. Quite a penetrating Montmains, this will deserve three or four years in bottle. Drink: 2025-2035. (Sep 2022)"

91 points Andy Howard, MW (Decanter): "A blend from all three sectors of the Montmains Premier Cru. Seguier says that Butteaux adds the tension whilst Montmains adds the weight. Quite soft and generous, attractive already with a touch of honey balanced with crisp acidity to balance the soft fruit character on the palate. White peach notes. Drinking Window: 2023-2027. (Oct 2022)
