93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2017 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru is a dense, powerful wine that very much shows the low yields of the vintage in its sheer richness. Citrus, floral and savory notes are front and center, but more than anything else, the 2017 stands out for its concentration, power and persistence. This is impressive. Drink: 2022-2032. (Jan 2020)"
91-93 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Just racked so not clear. 40% from Butteaux rich white fruit nose, intense but backward. Very good weight to this, lively fruit with both white and yellow character, always tension here. Some heat at the back. Still work in progress but very good promise. Tasted: May 2018."
91-92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2017 Montmains has also just been filtered, but was showing a bit more refinement at the time of my visit on both the nose and palate. The bouquet is going to be very pretty, as the nose offers up scents of lime, pear, spring flowers, chalky soil tones and citrus zest. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused, long and precise, with a good core, lovely transparency, bright, racy acids and fine grip on the bright and promising finish. 2018-2045. (Nov/Dec 2018)"

91 points Michael Edwards (The World of Fine Wine): "Montmains catches the fine end of August heat tempered by a quiet September. A Côte d'Or weight but lifted by elegant acidity and the winemaker's finessing skills. (Issue 63; 2019)"
