90-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "This is the only wine in the cellar with no whole bunch vinification, being on very draining soils, and Gilbert feels it can suffer. He did 100% whole bunches in 2020 and the wine did its malolactic immediately, during the alcoholic fermentation. This is rather lovely, strawberries and still some white pepper, good energy, slightly squishy fruit but handled well. Long finish. Drink from 2030-2036. Tasted: December 2023."

89-91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .39 ha holding). Pungent aromas of smoky reduction and wood toast dominate the nose. There is good volume and richness to the elegant and admirably pure middleweight flavors that terminate in a dusty, lightly austere and balanced finish. As is usually the case, this is a wine of finesse. Drink: 2029+. (Jan 2024)"

Being located on the "wrong side" of the D974 would suggest "La Justice" should be of little interest. However, a fault line of limestone runs directly through the vineyard. That, combined with sandy topsoil, allows for great drainage, which makes this one the best non-premier cru vineyards in Gevrey. Tasted blind, many people would (and do) mistake it for 1er cru Chambolle as it combines both depth and elegance unique to other vineyards in Gevrey.
