The mouth is medium-weight and transparent with no shortage of finesse and a long development in the mouth. Superconcentrated and aromatic in the mouth, delivering a sappy density but no impression of weight to the cherry and spice flavors. Wonderful clarity and lift here, and very long and subtle on the suave finish. (Jan/Feb 2014)"

91-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "There is noticeable wood that fights just a bit with the otherwise fresh and attractively layered high-toned red berry fruit aromas that enjoy added breadth in the form of pungent earth, spice and lovely floral hints. There is a relatively refined mouth feel thanks to the fine-grained tannins that shape the middle weight flavors, all wrapped in a delicious and solidly lingering finish. The wood resurfaces on the finale but the concentration is such that this should have no difficulty absorbing it in time. Drink: 2024+. (Jan 2014)"
