95 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$200 list] A gush of succulent black cherry fruit introduces this effusive red, along with black currant, blackberry, iron and oak spice notes. Dense yet racy, with an intense, lingering finish of fruit, mineral and spices. Best from 2025 through 2045. 840 cases made, 210 cases imported. (5/31/22)"
93-95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Faiveley's 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers is very promising indeed, mingling aromas of smoky berry fruit and plums with hints of rose hip, orange peel, musk and spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's concentrated and vibrant, with velvety tannins, lively acids and a long, perfumed finish. (Jan 2021)"
Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "4 hectares but only 8k bottles – very low yields here, around 20 hl/ha. Deep, faintly reductive – ‘the same as in 2016’ says Erwan – Showing more tannin and a more clarity versus the Lavaux but more open flavoured too. Lovely finishing, almost elegant – how often do you say that about Cazetiers? Super wine. (Dec 2020)"
