97 points Jane Anson: "(80% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Sémillon). Give this 5 or 10 minutes to open in the glass because it has a pretty serious structure, deftly weighted, full of white pear, quince and apricot pit, balanced by savoury rosemary, straw and fennel notes, successful and totally moreish. A vintage that had the freshness necessary for great white wines in Bordeaux, and Y pulls away from the pack with this wine. Drink: 2021-2030. Alcohol 14%. (8/31/21)"

96 points Wine Spectator: "Distinctive, with jasmine and elderflower notes leading off, followed by a racy set of white peach, white ginger and lemon shortbread notes. Feels pure and streamlined through the very long finish. A beautiful wine. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Drink now through 2028. 833 cases made. (2/17/21)"

94 points Jane Anson (Decanter): "An excellent Y with a round, ripe stone fruit flavour profile, extremely successful with silky-textured nectarine, apricot and mango fruits, given definition and lift by lime blossom and citrus peel. Around 6g/l residual sugar in this, to give a whisper of the main estate wine, although here with a majority of Sauvignon Blanc. Drinking Window: 2021-2031. (Oct 2020)"

94 points Peter Moser (Falstaff): "Pale yellow-green, silver reflections. Fresh hint of passion fruit, lime, white peach, a hint of lychee, inviting bouquet. Juicy, fine fruit sweetness, pleasant acidity, a hint of caramel, yellow tropical fruit after mango in the finish, delicate pineapple, elegant, fine salty minerality in the aftertaste, a multi-faceted food companion. (2/23/22)"

94 points La Revue du Vin de France: "In its dry version, 'Y' 2019 is fresh with a fresh nose that's very 'Sauvignon'. Tense on the attack, it has a nice backbone on the mid-palate. There's absolutely no hint of the six grams of sugar. This is a wine that will develop in bottle. (2022)"

93 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "This is 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon. This is very different to the 2018 vintage which I tasted alongside, the aromatics here powerfully mineral, with crushed sandstone, salt and white pepper, iodine too, these elements quite prominent compared to the bitter citrus fruits. The palate is very fresh, svelte, with deliciously defined fruits, all yellow peach, mirabelle, with the same minerality and saline elements seen on the nose wrapped all around it, together with a quite vivacious acidity. Firm and charged at the finish, this has an admirable sense of drive and direction. This is so good – like a challenging Kimmeridgian Sancerre. Just adorable! The alcohol here is 14.15%, although I sensed no issue from that. (Dec 2021)"

93 points James Suckling: "A linear and long Ygrec with sliced lemon, lemon sherbet and hints of lemon grass. Citrusy and flavorful. Finishes long and vertical. Very pretty and delicious. Very typical. Drink or hold. (7/4/22)"

Comprised of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, and only produced in certain years, d'Yquem "Y" is a dry white wine from Sauternes. Robert Parker (The World's Great Wine Estates) writes: "Yquem also produces a dry wine called 'Y.' It is a distinctive wine, with a bouquet not unlike that of Yquem, but oaky and dry to the taste and usually very full-bodied and noticeably alcoholic. It is a powerful wine and, to my palate, best served with a rich food such as foie gras."
