91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "The three vineyards which used to make one 1er Cru bottling have been separated since 2013. Jet black with purple rim. The nose is inkily concentrated, dark black cherry and spices, but prettier and with a longer finish than Petite Chapelle."

93 points (16.5/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "With crystallized fruit and leather notes, the Gevrey Les Corbeaux is more robust and firm, filled with a sap-like substance and more pronounced tannins. It is essential to let it age. (2019)"

91-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .08 ha parcel; vinified with <70% whole cluster). Here there is no reductive funk which allows the spicy, earth and sauvage-inflected aromas of plum and dark berries to be appreciated. There is excellent volume to the velvety, sappy and seductive flavors that firm up fast on the powerful and youthfully austere finish that is shaped by a prominent tannic spine. This is going to require at least moderate patience. Drink: 2031+. (Jan 2018)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Corbeaux comes from two parcels, 60 and 80 years old, matured entirely in new oak with around two-thirds whole cluster fruit. There was some reduction on the nose that was difficult to budge, though there appeared to be plenty of fruit down there. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly chalky tannin, a fine silver bead of acidity, dark berry fruit mixed with graphite and undergrowth that defined the structured, quite tannic but not astringent finish. It will need several years, possibly a decade to reach maturity. Drink: 2024-2040. (Dec 2017)"
