The brooding nose is overtly sauvage in character with its ripe array of cassis, black cherry, earth and distinct spice hints. The ultra-rich and impressively full-bodied flavors possess ample punch and muscle while delivering strikingly good length on the ever-so-mildly rustic and youthfully austere finale. It has a very attractive and beautifully defined bouquet with mineral-tinged black cherry and cassis fruit, seductive and sensual with one of the best mineral expressions from the domaine's premier crus. The palate is medium-bodied with tensile tannin driven by the crisp acidity, very well balanced and absorbing the 100% new oak deftly toward the slightly candied, crunchy, live-wire finish. Densely packed and sauvage, with its deep dark berry flavors complicated by leather and fresh blood nuances. This very concentrated wine conveys a lovely balance of sweetness and acidity.
