91 points and 'Top 100 Wine of 2019 (#64),' Wine Spectator: "[$26 list] Briary and vibrant, with zesty raspberry, toasted sage and cracked pepper flavors that take on richness toward polished tannins. Drink now through 2025. (6/30/19)"

91 points and 'Very highly recommended,' California Grapevine: "[$26 list] Medium to medium-dark ruby color; attractive, forward fruit aroma of blackberry, cranberry, and dark cherry, with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and black pepper; full body; forward, rich, ripe, slightly jammy, blackberry and dark cherry flavors with hints of anise, chocolate, and black pepper, good acid balance, and a rich, rounded mouthfeel; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Easy and enjoyable to drink now or over the next two to three years. 14.1% alcohol; blended with 22% Petite Sirah and 1% Carignane; released January 2020. (Jul 2020)"

Producer notes: "The 2018 Heritage Vines Zinfandel is delicious and beautifully balanced. This vintage presents enticing aromatics of boysenberry, cranberry and plum with hints of coriander, cardamom and dark chocolate. On the palate, brambly flavors of blackberry and black cherry come forward. The wine is complex, with bright acidity complimented by deeper notes of cumin, black pepper and white pepper. The tannins are silky and smooth to lend a round, rich mouthfeel. From start to finish, this remarkable wine offers refreshing acidity paired with excellent structure."
