94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "I do not know how the chardonnay vines in Clos des Mouches have managed to pull of this magical feat in the wake of the brutal hailstorm, but the 2013 white here is stunningly pure and beautiful. The bouquet is a superb blend of apple, pear, pastry cream, spring flowers, fresh almonds, chalky soil and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bdoied, pure and complex, with a great core of fruit, crisp acids and outstanding length and grip on the vibrant and utterly refined finish. Great juice. 2017-2040. (Nov/Dec 2014)"
93 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2013 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches was picked October 1-10, whole-cluster fruit and matured for 11 months in oak, bottled in September 2015 (incidentally, it be will packed in threes because of the small crop.) The nose is well defined, but it takes a little while to find its voice, eventually revealing white peach, wax resin and hints of white pepper. The palate is well balanced, understated at first, but then fanning out beautifully on the mid-palate with white pepper and shaved ginger rendering the finish lively and long in the mouth. It is remarkable that such a great white Burgundy has been produced in such a devastated vineyard. Victory clutched from the hands of defeat. Drink: 2017-2032. (Dec 2014)"
