94-96 points Fine Wine Review: "Add this to the long line of great Beaune-Clos des Mouches. The nose features floral red fruits. The mouth is pure and long with floral red cherries. The wine is medium-light on the palate with length and purity. There is a strong resemblance to Amoureuses here for the finesse and the red fruits. The grapes were picked on five occasions between 4 and 7 September. 25-30% whole clusters here. This is an estate wine, of course. (5/16/19)"

94 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Is Clos des Mouches better suited to red or white grapes? The answer is both in a vintage like 2017. This was picked in five stages to maximise balance and complexity and made with 25% stems and 30% new wood. It's not a blockbuster wine, prefering to charm rather than overwhelm the palate with elegance, refined tannins and spicy, wild strawberry and red cherry flavours. Drinking Window: 2023-2029. (Nov 2018)"

94 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$150 list] A rich red, with a velvety texture showing off floral, cherry, strawberry, licorice and mineral flavors. Beautifully balanced and firmly structured, this lingers with fresh cherry, iron and spice notes. Best from 2022 through 2035. 300 cases imported. (3/25/20)"

94 points James Suckling: "Lots of grilled meat, smoke and ripe fruit. Rich and decadent. Medium to full body, round and juicy tannins and a flavorful finish. Layered and juicy for the Clos des Mouches. Better after 2022. (2/12/19)"

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2017 Clos des Mouches rouge was harvested between September 4th and 7th, with the Drouhins’ team again making five passes through the vineyard to select each parcel at the optimal moment. This is an absolutely classic vintage for this bottling, with the nose wafting from the glass in a fine blend of red and black cherries, plums, dark chocolate, gamebird, a complex base of soil, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full, sappy and very long, with fine-grained tannins, lovely mid-palate depth, impressive focus and grip and a very long, very refined and energetic finish. Great juice and still in barrel in November. 2025-2065. (Nov/Dec 2018)"

93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2017 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches is showing beautifully from bottle, wafting from the glass with an inviting bouquet of ripe red berries, orange rind, warm spices and subtle hints of coniferous forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and beautifully harmonious, with the same suave structuring tannins that I identified from barrel, succulent acids and a long, fragrant finish. This is a Clos des Mouches that positively caresses the palate, and it will offer a broad drinking window. Drink: 2021-2045. (Feb 2020)"
