Droin Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir 2022

93-95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "40% oak. A clear pale lemon colour with a light green tint. There is an attractive smoky touch adding to the mineral freshness of the bouquet. Then the additional richness of fruit on the palate which this vintage gives. Even so, the fruit profile is the usual concentrated white fruit I expect from Vaudésir. A fine long finish. Drink from 2029-2038. Tasted: June 2023."

94 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "This comes from both sides of the path up the valley, with the predominant portion from the north side. Its pretty fragrance leads to a palate with baked yellow plums and lush musk melon. The mouthfeel is vinous with a nice thread of taut acidity but no evident dryness. There's a kick of saltiness, too. (2024)"

92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru is very fragrant on the nose with white peach, white chocolate and hints of wet stone scents, like a Vaillons-plus. The palate is well-defined, taut and fresh, with crisp acidity and good depth, but it starts to clam up towards the finish. Patience will be required, but there is no doubting the caliber of this Grand Cru. Drink: 2027-2040. (Sep 2023)"

91-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.02 ha parcel with about 2/3s of it on the north facing side). A ripe but agreeably cool nose combines an array of spice elements with those of oyster shell, pear and pretty floral wisps. The super-sleek and wonderfully refined medium weight flavors aren't particularly dense but they do offer a beguiling sense of energy that also suffuses the very dry, focused and highly persistent finale. Like the MdT, this too could use better depth though more should almost certainly develop if given a chance. Drink: 2030+. (Aug 2023)"
