Lovely smells of cookie batter/cake batter, salted butter and bay leaf waft up from the glass in the first nosings after the pour; the buttery aspect builds into butterscotch, light caramel, saltwater taffy and lightly toasted marshmallow in the latter stages. Entry is tight, firm, peppery and dried herb-like (sage); midpalate is biscuity, spicy and clean, with a touch of fennel. Ends on a bitter note that's a trace oaky. (Sep 2012)"
