95-97 points Ulrich Sautter (Falstaff): "On the nose there is fragrant orange peel, it gives a "cool" impression, almost no noticeable use of wood, but with air reveals some yeast, aniseed rolls and caraway. On the palate it is delicate with inconspicuous density, quite restrained, distinguished, delicate acidity threads through and it seems completely unforced. Many intermediate tones, juicy fruit dissolve on the finish with delicate tactile minerality and incredible elegance. At the end last ripe fruit concentration and savoury. (Dec 2020)"

93-96 points Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy): "Picked on 7th September at 14% and an ideal pH of3.20. Lemon and lime colour. The marvellous Clos des Bouchères features a discreet, but beautifully balanced nose, sheer class and no feel of the heat. Smoky intensity on the palate, white fruit, before a really lovely aftertaste. Great finesse even at this power! (Oct 2020)"

95 points Charles Curtis MW (Decanter): "From a 1.37ha monopole within Bouchères, between Gouttes d’Or and Porusots, higher on the slope than Charmes. The restrained use of new wood and the reductive ageing on the lees bring the wine a lemony intensity on the nose, plus a lively balance on the palate that parses the difference between the Charmes and Perrières. If it lacks the power of the latter, it exceeds the former in elegance. Drinking Window: 2024-2039. (10/24/20)"

93-95 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.37 ha parcel). This possesses the most elegant nose in the range with its airy, even wafting, aromas of lemon-lime, spice, gardenia and acacia blossom. The succulent, understated and delineated flavors danse across the palate where the sappy dry extract coats mouth while a subtle minerality adds a sense of lift to the sneaky long finish. This is at once delicate but punchy and really quite classy. Drink: 2031+. (Jun 2021)"

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Aromas of orange oil, pear and nutmeg, complemented by hints of mint and fresh pastry, preface Roulot's 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Clos des Bouchères, a medium to full-bodied wine that's more chiseled than the corresponding Charmes, with lovely structuring dry extract, but it also shows the elevated maturity of the vintage more obviously in a slightly heady finish. So, it will be especially interesting to see how this performs in bottle after further élevage. (Jan 2021)"

93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Meursault Clos de Bouchère 1er Cru fomented much controversy about whether it showed signs of TCA. The bottle was rejected during the blind tasting due to a minor trait. It was returned to the bottle and re-poured later, by which time it was felt that the TCA was no longer evident. The 2019 shows fragrant white flowers, white peach and orange pith scents with fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly rounded texture, a fine bead of acidity, fresh with a gentle grip and a caressing finish. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. Drink: 2023-2040. (Dec 2023)"
