96 points Tyson Stelzer (The Champagne Guide): "(tasted in 2024 in France; 65% pinot noir from Aÿ, Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay; 30% chardonnay from le Mesnil and Avize, 5% meunier from Chamery; aged 9 years on lees). A core of apple and pear is graced with lemon and grapefruit, in a lean and pure style that embraces the elegant refinement that is Deutz in the understated 2014 season. At a full decade of age (to the day!) it is evolving in freeze-frame slow motion, carrying just the slightest beginnings of almond meal and toast. It concludes with the delightful lemon freshness of the house, fantastic persistence and saline chalk minerality. (2024)"

95 points Falstaff: "Medium golden yellow with brassy reflections and a delicate, persistent mousse. Ripe stone fruit nuances show on the nose, with a hint of honey, peach and citrus zest. White flowers and a hint of orange blossom add floral lightness, with some baked goods in the background. Powerful and elegant on the palate with ripe nectarines showing again, alongside brioche notes and velvety texture. Some mineral freshness on the finish, with a herbal and savoury aftertaste backed by fine acidity. Certainly further ageing potential here. (10/4/24)"

95 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide (2025).

94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "[$200 list] The 2014 Brut Millésime William Deutz is brisk and beautifully focused. Hints of peach, tangerine oil, mint, yellow flowers, marzipan and chamomile open in the glass. Ultimately, though, the 2014 impresses with its vital energy. I especially admire the intensely saline finish. I would give this another year or two in bottle to help soften some of the contours. This is beautifully done. Disgorged: March 31, 2023. Drinking Window: 2023-2031. (Nov 2023)"

94 points Wine Spectator: "[$200 list] A lovely, mouthwatering Champagne, creamy and finely meshed, this is only slowly revealing layered flavors of Golden Delicious apple and orchard blossoms, chopped hazelnut and fleur de sel, candied ginger and oyster shell as they expand on the luxurious mousse and linger on the finish. Drink now through 2034. (12/15/23)"

94 points James Suckling: "This is showing some savory soy and tobacco notes alongside biscuit, buttered toast and spiced pear. There’s a lemony freshness throughout. It’s creamy and medium-bodied with rounded, silky bubbles. Buttery and flavorful. Drink now. (8/6/24)"

94 points La Revue du Vin de France: "William Deutz 2014 is particularly elegant in this not-so-simple vintage, with tension and plenty of tactile and aromatic finesse. (2025)"

94 points Decanter: "(67% Pinot Noir, 28% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier). Rich and indulgent, with a palate of red apple, white cherry, lemon, baked, creamy notes and poise quince. Alcohol 12.0%. (DWWA 2024)"
