92-96 points Fine Wine Review: "The Clos-Vougeot also is raised in 60% new oak. The wine is tannic but light on the palate with dense, penetrating black raspberry fruit. Very promising. (Issue #141; 2014)"

93-95 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "A deep, structured wine, the 2012 Clos Vougeot boasts superb intensity to match its expressive, layered personality. Blue and black-toned fruit, cloves, leather and violets. Next to the Corton, the ClosVougeot is dense and resonant, with multiple dimensions that slowly reveal themselves with time. Today, the 2012 is massive and imposing, yet I find a level of purity in the fruit that is absolutely striking. Drink: 2022-2042. (Jan 2014)"

92-95 points and 'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(100% whole clusters). Here the slightly more expressive nose is a bit more elegant though this too could reasonably be described as restrained with its pretty combination of floral, red currant and freshly turned earth scents. The refinement telegraphed by the nose is confirmed on the palate as this is unusually seductive in the context of the appellation because the evident muscularity of the large-scaled flavors is buffered by plenty of dry extract that also serves to buffer the firm tannic spine on the balanced and still youthfully austere finish. This is a terrific Clos de Vougeot. Drink: 2024+. (Apr 2014)"

92-94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(100% vendange entier; 60% new oak): Good deep red. Highly complex aromas of dark raspberry, cherry, pepper, spices and bitter chocolate. Intensely flavored, silky and sexy if a bit youthfully taut, with a three-dimensional mouth feel and suave tannins that melt beautifully into the wine's fruit. Finishes broad, silky, subtle and long. Already very sexy but built to age. (Jan 2014)"
