96-99 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "The 2019 production consists of one normal 228l barrel and one of 285 litres neither, brand new. There are some toasty notes from the wood while the detailed elements of fruit remain covered by the intensity. This wine is sitting back on its haunches, really promising. There is a huge sweetness of fruit through the middle, a very proper toastiness, a fine acidity. This massive Montrachet still retains enough lightness on its feet despite the majesty of the vineyard. Long too. Of course! (Oct 2020)"

96 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .11 ha parcel of 75+ year old vines on the Chassagne side). Here the equally stylish nose is more restrained and only grudgingly gives up its array of both white and yellow peach, citrus confirm, anise, exotic tea and pretty floral wisps. There is outstanding intensity to the dense and tautly muscular big-bodied flavors that exude a bracing salinity on the complex and citrusy finale that just goes on and on. While this certainly displays noticeable power, it's focused and overall, I would describe this classy effort as more a Montrachet of refinement than most overtly robust examples. Drink: 2034+. (Jun 2021)"

94-96 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2019 Montrachet Grand Cru is also very promising, unwinding in the glass with a reserved nose of orchard fruit, nutmeg, freshly baked bread, orange oil and spices. Full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, it's layered and concentrated, with real texture and intensity. This is still on the lees in barrel, so it's not so advanced in its élevage as the other wines in the cellar, but it's full of promise. (1/14/21)"

94-96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "There are two barrels of the 2019 Montrachet Grand Cru this year, one new and the other used. It has a reserved nose at first, nicely detailed with touches of white flower infusing the green apple, nettle and oyster shell aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, a touch creamy in texture with a delicate accent of spice towards the finish, flanked by hazelnut and praline notes. Complex yet backward, this is an impressive Montrachet that should give up to 30 years of drinking pleasure. Is it the best ever produced? Maybe not. Drinking Window: 2025-2050. (Dec 2020)"
